IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHRISTCHURCH GRC RACE MEETINGS THURSDAY 9 & FRIDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2010

Licensed persons should note that as a result of safety concerns at the Addington Raceway venue following the recent acts of nature & the fact the HRNZ has cancelled its race meeting there on Thursday 9th September, Christchurch GRC has advised that the aforementioned race meetings will not take place at Addington.

Addington Raceway has also indicated that the venue has been closed for all commercial activity going forward pending further inspection by a structural engineer.

GRNZ has however worked with the NZRB & Christchurch & Otago GRC's to facilitate the transfer of the meetings and these will now be held at Forbury Park in Dunedin.

The meetings will represent a straight transfer with all of the conditions pertaining to them remaining in place. This includes field composition, race start times etc.

GRNZ recognizes that not all licensed persons will be in a position to travel to Otago to race or indeed may of their own volition choose not to, and as a result penalty free withdrawals from fields will be permitted if requested. This said, GRNZ reserves the right to cancel one or both meetings if withdrawals are so significant that the viability of the meeting is questionable. Withdrawals can be made by contacting John Carlyle on 021 236-3251.

Trainers with greyhounds engaged at both meetings have been sent this dispatch but will also be contacted by phone by GRNZ if possible.

Please phone the GRNZ office with any queries.
